The way we think about ourselves - our self-image, and our ability to do things - self confidence, determines a great deal of our quality of life.

Self-image and confidence levels are a result of many things, including early life experiences. They are rarely factual, they are just ideas we hold in our minds, yet they have so much power over our lives.

Self-image and confidence are closely linked. Good self-image means that we accept ourselves as valuable human beings. This can affect all areas of life - our general level of happiness, the quality of our relationships, the work we do and our ability to handle day to day life among many other things. Poor self-image can reduce the quality of our lives in all areas.

When we have healthy self confidence we allow ourselves to try more things and to follow our dreams, resulting in a richer life. Poor self confidence means that we limit ourselves out of a fear of failing or not being good enough.
