Relax and Master Stress
Stressful thoughts reflect a conflict with reality. Stress happens when the mind resists what is. (Dan Millman)
One of our oldest and strongest reactions is 'fight or flight', totally necessary when living in a cave surrounded by wild animals. When a threat is perceived, the body prepares to fight or flee, and when the threat is past, returns to its resting state.
Modern threats are of a very different nature. We might not meet a lion on the way to work, but have to cope with a bully all day when we get there. We may not have to hunt for our food, but fear of not having enough income can be an ongoing threat. For many people, these and similar things build up so that the body is in an almost constant state of 'threat preparedness', resulting in what we call stress.
Sometimes stress can be mild, at others, if the 'threat' is repeated or ongoing, the stress build up can be distressing and debilitating.
At Rivendell we work with you and your stress in several ways:
- By using hypnotherapy to induce deep relaxation, counterbalancing the physical and emotional tension caused by stress
- By using hypnotherapy and NLP to help you raise your 'threat threshold', so you experience the stress response in fewer situations
- By helping you develop assertiveness and confidence so you are better able to deal with day to day situations
You can get the benefit of Rivendell's stress reduction help:
- If you are looking for a deeply relaxing and empowering stress relieving experience, why not try a one-hour reiki-hypnotherapy session - a massage for the mind
- For more intensive work to help you minimise your daily stress levels, incorporating all the approaches above, come for the combined hypnotherapy and NLP approach over as many sessions as you feel you need
